User Group in Chicago
I am looking for a user group in the Chicago area. If I could find something in the Wheaton area, that would be great. However, I would be willing to drive across the city if I found a worthwhile group. Anyone know of a group?

I love using OpenOffice Calc. It is an amazing tool and makes these sorts of calculations very easy. The whole Open Office deal is really a crazy thing. Open source really does make anything possible.

The Common Lisp Quick Reference is a great resource. I downloaded the pdf version and keep it on my iPad. I like being able to reference it for quick information. Thanks for pointing resource out.

The Gentle Introduction with Emacs and Slime is a great way to get started. You have to take a bit at a time. This can all get very overwhelming if you are not careful. I find that if I dive deep, then take a break, come back, I am much more energized about everything.

another hint: when working with threads under sbcl, if debugger is invoked within non-main thread, use (sb-thread:release-foreground) to switch to that thread to choose the restart. I didn't know that you could use sb-thread:release-foreground to switch threads. Tips like this make this forum helpf...
