Don't be hatin!

This place looks nice, but why is it limited to only Common Lisp? Why not include Scheme, and Emacs Lisp while you're at it?

I thought about it, but those are typically such separate communities that they'll probably want their own sites. If people really think that LispForum should cater toward anything Lisp-like, we can easily extend it to do so. Even if Scheme was included, I'd think that Emacs Lisp would probably be a stretch. If you really want to talk about Emacs Lisp generally, you could do so in the Emacs forum on this site and I wouldn't mind. There's crossover there, so just do it and we'll see what happens.

Personally I think it'd be nice to embrace all of the Lisp variants. Scheme, Emacs Lisp, Clojure, newLISP, Arc, whatever else. Is there any other place where people from all of these communities can get together and mingle and share ideas?

Okay, great idea. I'll definitely think about it. I'm just cautious of trying to have a single forum site trying to do too much.

Someone made a submission to reddit about this forum already.

And even with so few comments, it seems a lot of people are turned off by the "'Common' being implicit".

I think just having a few subforums for CL, Scheme, Arc, etc would keep it separate enough.

Okay, I'll see what I can come up with. The main thing is to make sure that the information structure is sane and that it doesn't appear as a jumble of topics.

Okay, I just revamped the forum structure. Let me know if anybody has any more feedback.
