Okay, I decided to go for it. I just created a favicon.ico based on the surprised looking smiley icon with parenthesis around its head. You may have to dump your browser cache to see it. I had to shrink things down to make it all fit in the 16x16 space you get for a favicon, so it doesn't have the resolution of the smiley used in the forum itself.

Okay, the current favicon is really working for me. I think we'll keep it. theclapp wins the LispForum award for most improvement to the web site this week. Your steak knives are in the mail.
Thanks to everybody else who suggested things, particularly dmgenp's "parenthesis lizard" which was definitely a competitor.
